EA partners with American McGee for a sequel to Alice.

Word from our guys at D.I.C.E. is that EA President and CEO John Riccitiello announced a partnership with American McGee. The result? American McGee's Alice 2. I'm trying to think of a way to type "American McGee" at least three more times. According to word from our folks at the summit, Alice 2 will be released for both console and PC.

American McGee's most recent project, American McGee's Grimm, is an episodic deal developed out of his Shanghai studio Spicy Horse. I have an interview scheduled with the head of EA Partners later today, so perhaps he'll be able to talk a bit more on this.”

[UPDATE 1:30 p.m. PST]: And here comes the press release. Alice 2 is an EA Partners joint, to be released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

"EA gave us creative latitude and support on the original game which resulted in something beautiful and daring. This trip through the looking glass promises to be even more exciting."

"American McGee's interpretation of Alice was an instant classic, and EA Partners is ready to help him bring his innovative vision for the franchise to even darker, more exciting places."
[UPDATE 4:45 p.m. PST]: Had a brief chat with EA Partners' Senior VP David DeMartini a little while ago. He had a lot to say about his department's methodology when it comes to identifying and retaining world-class independent developers. According to him, EA's got agents all over this "shrinking" globe looking to provide an avenue to talented up-and-comers whereever they may be. As for details on the new Alice? Not super forthcoming. "Alice is not an episodic project." Bryce Baer (EA PR) dismissed that right off the bat. So standalone game it is.

Claro que he medio leído la noticia, lo que preguntaba era si había salido en Xbox....

no está basado en la peli, aunque claro, aprovecharán el tirón, como está mandao
